A custom pet portrait painted from your own photo. Choose a hand-painted watercolour, a bright digital colour illustration or a clean digital line drawing, with one, two or three pets in the same portrait.

Watercolour pet portrait, painted by hand

This is the classic: your dog or cat painted in soft watercolour. You can have the original painting in 5x7 up to 12x18 inches, or just the digital file to print yourself. Many people order it as a pet memorial portrait, to keep a much-loved companion close.

• Painted by hand with professional-grade watercolours on premium watercolour paper. This is not a print or a filter.
• Painting takes about 3 to 7 days, depending on my current workload.
• Choose Digital file and you get a high-resolution (300 dpi) scan by email, ready to print at any size.
• Original paintings are packed flat in a sturdy card envelope with a cellophane sheet and ship from Canada.
• Every piece is painted by hand, so it will be close to your photo but not an exact copy. That's the charm of a real painting.
• Want a rough sketch to approve before I paint? Mention it when you send your photo.

Digital pet portrait: colour or line art

Prefer something modern? The digital styles are drawn by hand on a tablet, not generated. The colour illustration is bold and playful, and the line art is minimal and clean. You pick the background and outline colours and whether to include your pet's name. You receive a digital file (16x20 inches by default; ask if you need another size), usually within 1 to 5 days.

How to order

1. Choose the style, number of pets and size.
2. Send 2 to 3 clear, well-lit photos of each pet. Photos taken at your pet's eye level work best.
3. Tell me the pet's name if you'd like it on the portrait, plus headshot or full body.

Add your photo when you order. If you can't upload it on this page, reply to your order confirmation email with it and I'll start from there.

Good to know

Custom dog portraits and custom cat portraits are the most common, but I paint any animal. For a detailed background or another special request, message me before ordering. As the artist I keep the copyright, and may share the finished piece in my portfolio. Tell me if you'd rather I didn't.
